AODA and Websites

AODA is needed for companies now more than ever. Sites can immediately become liable if these policies are not adhered to, and even opportunistic people can sue for their own advantage. AI tools can also scan for accessibility issues, making them much easier to find and much riskier for those who have not made changes. Now that persons with disabilities have a legal recourse, web accessibility has created a far more significant barrier of entry for website creators.

This will result in less sites existing overall, since only the largest sites can afford to adhere to all compliances. Independent sites are now struggling because of these expensive policies, and some companies are abandoning certain parts of their sites since the cost to prevent liability is not worth it. There will likely be less websites overall in the future.
