Pay attention to the right reviews
If reviews are important to you, they will also be a priority for the GMB algorithm. Positive and negative reviews are both weighted, however algorithms are getting better at detecting fake reviews, and those ones can be removed quickly. Attention should also be given to reviews from people who have established experience at reviewing. However, be mindful of the difference between a thoughtful bad review and a “revenge review”. If someone seems to have a certain motive for giving you a bad review beyond just the site itself, keep in mind the possible bias.
Find a proof of source with bad reviews, but don’t use this as a reason to filter out all bad reviews. That will send a message that you are removing any possible criticism, which will appear dishonest to viewers of your site. To track the success of your site and GMB, look out for feedback but also know when to spot a fake or biased review.
