Rob’s laid back yet extremely engaging interviewing technique brought a different twist to his interview with Headstones’ guitarist, Trent Carr. It was a nice change of approach getting Trent’s perspective on some of the inner workings of the band. Rob focused on some aspects of the music business that are not always brought to light such as the role labels played in the early days vs. today and the role of fans beyond crowd funding giving us insights to the bands thoughts on the dialog of social media.
It was also interesting how Rob with little effort was able to direct the interview to places fans often wonder about such as the choosing of tracks for the OITCM album or “who” is responding on social media. Trent was so comfortable with Rob that even as Rob was ending the interview Trent offered a little peek into his personal life discussing his gaming activities.
If you are a Headstones fan, this is a must listen because well it’s Trent; and if you are a musician, it is a must listen because it begins the discussion on the elements for a business model for a band of today.
